11/18/08 02:23 am - Writer's Block: The Season of Giving

The holidays are right around the corner, which means gift-giving (and buying) season is upon us. When do you usually purchase your gifts? What are the benefits/disadvantages of buying when you do?

Call me Ebenezer Scrooge [minus the money], but we don't do Christmas.

10/29/08 11:33 pm - Writer's Block: The Internet

Happy birthday, Internet! The Internet, of course, has changed many things for the good. But is it all good? What is the biggest problem the Internet has created for you or the world?

View 500 Answers

No, not ALL internet is good. It's not my problem, but I realized that there's a problem with a majority of people & that problem would be PORNOGRAPHY! Not only is it pornography, but it's a more secretive gateway for spouses to cheat on others. Not only this, but there is this huge issue going around about cyber bullying. These little shits like to get on & terrorize others because they don't have what it takes to handle real problems with real people. The internet has become their mask & they're going to hide behind it for as long as they can.

The problem I have with the internet is that I've allowed it to take over my life. Instead of going out with friends on the weekends, I sit at my computer either on Myspace or Livejournal. I've allowed the internet to take away my physical social life & give me this virtual life that I have become so used to. It's an emotional attachment & it's not good at all.

The internet should be used for educational purposes. It should be used for good instead of what I listed above. I see more cons with the internet than I do pros... anyone else like that?

10/27/08 05:34 am - Writer's Block: The Undead

With Halloween on the horizon, burning questions about the undead need to be answered: Can being a zombie be considered suffering?

I don't think so. I think the human-feeling part of a zombie is already dead. If that part was still alive, they wouldn't be the monsters we've grown to love... lol. I don't think they recognize 'pain & suffering'. They just want one thing & one thing only: "brains." =D

10/19/08 04:18 am - Writer's Block: Forbidden Reading

From Judy Blume to V.C. Andrews, there's always a book circulating among teens that their parents don't want them to read. What favorite book did you have to hide from your parents?

View 503 Answers

I never had to hide any reading material from my parents. They really didn't care what novel I was reading, just as long as I was reading. This writer's block really excited me, because growing up Judy Blume was my favorite author. After I got in middle school, I discovered V.C. Andrews & she took Judy Blume's place & has remained my favorite author since. I know I wouldn't hide their brilliant work from my future kids... I'd probably hide Andrews' first before I did Blume's... Brilliant author's, really brilliant!

10/15/08 06:35 am - Writer's Block: I Love Lucy

I Love Lucy premiered today in 1951, and has been on the air ever since. Although Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz’s marriage didn’t last off the air, Lucy and Ricky are one of the great couples in television history. Who is your favorite TV couple?

Lucy & Ricky were always my top television couple from ever since I was a little girl. I guess my second favorite would have to be Dan & Roseanne Connor. =] But you can't go to far from George & Weezy Jefferson. xD

Audrey Hepburn's Beauty Tips:
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.

For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.

For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.

For beautiful hair, let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day.

For poise, walk with the knowledge you’ll never walk alone.

Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you’ll find one at the end of your arm.

As your grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others.

The beauty in a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.

It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!

Some people find Eeyore’s gloomy outlook charming. Others prefer the bouncy enthusiasm of Tigger. Who would you rather be trapped in an elevator with: Eeyore or Tigger?

View 501 Answers

Tigger is my favorite Winnie the Pooh character, but I don't think I could handle being trapped anywhere with his type of personality. I would get way too annoyed with him way too quickly. Eeyore is more like me & I think I could handle it a lot better regardless of his pessimistic outlook.

10/13/08 09:59 pm - Writer's Block: Lenny Bruce

Before George Carlin exposed the seven words you can’t say on television, comedian Lenny Bruce was arrested multiple times for saying all seven, and more, on stage. Who is today’s most groundbreaking comedian? Or is there even any ground left to break?

View 332 Answers

I think the most ground breaking comedian that I've ever seen was in fact George Carlin. He has went over so many boundries and he just didn't give a fuck who he angered or what kind of rise he would get out of the audience. George Carlin was a very smart man with amazing views on everything.
Now, I've never listened to anything Lenny Bruce did & I'm sure there are other comedians out there that has probably went farther than Carlin, but what can you say, though? Carlin was an original. Comedians tend to step over certain boundries, but not like George Carlin. When Carlin mentioned something serious, he would talk about it like it was a joke. He's discussed suicide & rape & laughed about it as if the subject never phased him in the first place.
I had so much respect for George Carlin & I always will. He, in my opinion, is the most ground breaking comedian ever.
